What's In My Everyday Makeup Bag!

So, I was having a think about what sort of blog post I felt like writing recently, and thought as someone who is so obsessed with makeup, it was about time I shared what's currently in my makeup bag.

Eyeshadow!

My absolute favourite makeup product that I'm currently using is believe it or not, an item from Jeffree Star Cosmetics.

It's the Mini Breaker palette!

When the Jawbreaker collection launched, I remember seeing the mini breaker palette and being super excited. Mainly, because the colour story of the palette was right up my street!

The purples tones looked absolutely gorgeous, and the mustards would be perfect to wear during the winter months.

Of course, I didn't just go and buy it straight away. Instead, I stared longingly at pictures of the palette on beautybay, before I eventually caved in and bought it.

I'll be honest, the first time I used this palette, I was actually really devastated with how badly performing these shadows were. I found that the eye shadows faded super quick, which I'd never experienced with a palette before.

However, after looking at reviews online, I quickly realized that the reason the shadows weren't performing as well as I had hoped, was because they're actually pressed pigments.

Which means, that in order for them for perform well on the eye, they need a wet base to stick to.

Of course, I Immediately purchased a primer for my eyelids, and all the problems that I was experiencing with the palette, were solved.

So, if you're interested in Jeffree Star eye shadows, please bare in mind you'll benefit from purchasing a primer first!

I've found as long as the shades in this palette are applied with a wet base first, I have no problems whatsoever. In fact I'm super impressed with how pigmented these shadows are, they really pack a punch!

Primer!

The second item in my makeup bag, is actually the primer I mentioned previously!

The primer is from E.L.F cosmetics, and is a super affordable price of £3.00

I've found that not only does this primer help in making my eyeshadows last longer and crease less, but it also does a really great job of  helping to conceal any redness or veins showing on my eyelids, before I apply my shadows.

I think that this product is cheap and cheerful, and has been a great wee addition to my makeup bag!

Eyebrows!

For the longest time, I was all about that brow powder life. Until recently, when I decided to change my hair to a lighter colour. Which means having more control over my brow application is necessary.

Enter, the twist up brow pencil from E.L.F cosmetics (I know, there's a theme here.)

Once again, this brow pencil only cost £3.00 and left me super impressed.

The brow pencil seems to be the perfect consistency. Meaning, that when I apply the product, it does feel waxy, but it's still hard enough that I have a good amount of control over how much of the pencil is applied to my brows.

The pencil also comes with a wee brush on the other end, so it's super quick and easy to apply the product and then comb it through!

It should be noted though, that the brow pencil doesn't have a whole tonne of different colours to chose from. However, I use the shade Neutral Brown, and it works perfectly for me!

Foundation!

One of the biggest things about makeup is how picky I am when it comes to base products. I really hate the feeling of foundation on my skin. So, for that reason, I often chose to wear CC Creams.

The CC cream that I'm loving at the moment, is actually from Max Factor.

I'm not particularly sure if you can still buy this product in Boots Or Superdrug anymore, as I managed to buy mine in the makeup section of B'n M' Bargains.

The product applies like a tinted moisturiser, blends out well, and gives a decent amount of coverage. All while leaving my skin with a natural looking finish.

I would highly recommend anyone who hates the feeling of makeup on their skin, to go and grab themselves a nice BB or CC cream, as it can be a real game changer!

Concealer!

For my everyday concealer, I am absolutely in love with this one from Barry M Cosmetics!

I've actually almost finished up using my fifth one. Which I'm pretty sure will result in me immediately purchasing another one!

The concealer, really reminds me of the old classic collection 2000 one, which I actually used to wear all the time when I first started out with makeup.

I've found that although this concealer is similiar to collection 2000 when it comes to the coverage level. (which is pretty full on) I would still say that this Barry M concealer is a lot more hydrating.

I've found that the All Nighter Concealer, applies and blends out easily. Leaving the skin with a nice full coverage, smooth looking base.

I also haven't really had any problems with this concealer clinging to dry patches on my skin. Which is always a plus!

The concealer only costs £4.50 and comes in a nice wee shade range, including some super pale shades for us fairer girls!

Mascara!

Well, here's the thing about mascara. For me personally, I never really bother sticking with the same one. In the same way, I won't purchase an expensive one.

The reason for this, is that mascaras always dry out so quickly! And seeing as I have quite curly eyelashes naturally, I don't really need anything super fancy to do the trick.

So, at the moment I'm currently using a Max Factor Mascara that I also bought in B' n M' Bargains, at the same time as my CC cream.

Which means, I can't really give my in depth thoughts on the mascara.

Although, what I will suggest is that for anyone on a budget, who wants a good and affordable mascara, definitely check out some of the ones from Primark. As they are surprisingly good for the price!

Blush And Bronzer!

One of the things about me, is that I absolutely adore palettes. So for me, having an all in one blush and bronze palette, is much more preferable than buying single items.

Another fun fact, is that I absolutely love going into TK Maxx and seeing what beauty gems they have for sale.

During one of my trips to Tk Maxx in the summers months, I stumbled across a huge range of Anastasia Beverly Hills products.

One of which was actually a blush trio, called cocktail party!

After looking at the shades available in this particular palette, I realized that the last two shades would make for perfect blush tones. and the first, (much too dark for me shade.) would actually make a really nice bronzer.

Fast forward all these months later, and this blush trio is still my go to product on the daily basis. The blushers apply beautifully, and leave a soft, well blended finish. Compared to the splotchy, dry looking blushers I've came across in the past.

And although this product is available online for full price, if you play your cards right and pop into your local Tk Maxx every once in a while, you may come across this blush trio for the £14.99 price that I thankfully payed!

Highlighter!

When it comes to highlighter, I'm not really a huge fan. I've found that quite a few drugstore highlighters, as nice as they may look, can very quickly give you that wizard of Oz Tin man effect.

Not to mention, that very few people want to wear a super blinding highlighter, when it's just on a day to day basis.

However, I came across, an absolutely beautiful liquid highlight, that is also from Anastasia Beverly Hills, and before you start panicking about the price, I too bought this in Tk Maxx for only £9.99

I bought mine in the shade Perla. Which is this perfect champagne coloured highlight.

The thing that I love most about this product, is just how natural it looks on the skin. Instead of having a big old chunky glitter highlight, I'm left with a very soft, almost wet looking finish. Making my skin appear as if it were just naturally radiant, rather than a very obviously applied highlight.

I've been using this product constantly from I purchased it, and think that It's safe to say, I am more than happy with it!

So, if you ever see these highlights on offer, or in Tk Maxx again, I would highly recommend grabbing yourself one!

Lipsticks!

Now, lipstick for me is one of those products where, I basically buy the exact same shade every single time, just from a different brand.

So, prepare yourself for two of my favourite lipsticks, that I'm currently using, that are pretty much just varying shades of pinks.

The first lipstick, that I absolutely cannot live without, is surprisingly a product from Bare Minerals.

This shade is called Tease, and is that perfect nude, pink shade, that isn't too nude or too peach. Which believe it or not, is a super difficult shade of colour to find at an affordable price.

The lipstick also has some super pretty gold reflects throughout it, that make for a lovely, pearly finish when applied to the lips.

I've also found that this lipstick, is buttery smooth, and applies with ease to the lips.

Now, I know what you're thinking. A Bare Minerals lipstick can be more on the pricey side. However, Fear not, My fellow blog readers. As I actually managed to find this product in... surprise surprise... Tk Maxx for the grand price of £8.00!

Now, the second lip product that I absolutely adore, is super affordable, and is a product that I've been repurchasing from my early teens!

I give you, the Collection (formerly collection 2000) velvet kiss, lip creme!

As I mentioned previously, I've been wearing and repurchasing this lipstick ever since I first started buying makeup, and still to this day it is one of my absolute favourite lip products.

And before anyone asks, no, it is not a liquid lipstick. And no, it isn't a gloss either.

The easiest way to describe this product, is to refer to it as a dupe for the NYX soft matte lip cremes. Except collection has far less of a shade range available. (unfortunately) And they only cost around £3.00!

I've found that this lip creme, is super comfortable when applied to my lips, and leaves a lovely amount of colour pigment, without staining my lips like crazy.

If I'm honest I'm struggling to give reasons as to why I love this product, other than I just frickin love it.

It's smooth, creamy, and wears really nicely on my lips. Which in my eyes, is a total win!

So for anyone who's seen these and never though to try them before, I would definitely suggest picking one up!

And there you have it, a good old nosy, into my current everyday makeup bag!

I hope you enjoyed having a read!!
