Testing Kash Beauty

As a huge lover of all things makeup related, anytime I learn of a new brand or product launching, I'm usually dying to test it out for myself. 

And This time is no different. 

This brand is called Kash Beauty and was actually created by fellow Irish makeup artist and lover Keilidh Mua. 

Having recently learned that these products  became available for purchase on the Bperfect Megastore, I immediately picked myself up something to test out.

I decided to try out the Crystal Nights eyeshadow palette. 

A super stunning palette, featuring beautiful nude toned browns, alongside, wonderful jewel toned shimmer shades.

The packaging of this product, is very simple and sleek. Keeping the main focus on the quality of the product more than the packaging.

With an all black palette and a very simple gold logo, the palette does still look nice, but very minimalistic. 

That being said, the palette does come with a decent sized mirror. Which is great for those of you who are planning to travel.

The palette comes with nine eyeshadow shades. Giving you the option from five shimmer and 4 matte tones/

The colour selection in this palette would be absolutely ideal, for the fast approaching, Christmas and new years season.

With perfect nude tones, deep smokey blues and rich shimmering purples. You can easily create a perfect makeup look.

Of course the matte shadows all have that classic, strongly pigmented, soft smooth, blendible formula, that works amazing when applied on the eyelids. 

And lets not forget to mention how perfect the brown tones are in this palette. With them both swatching and blending out beautifully.

I also absolutely love how the neutral tones in this palette, are just the right tones of brown. Not too warm and not too cool. But still varying slightly in depth. Which makes creating a soft smokey eye super easy.

As for the shimmers. Well, they're simply stunning.

With beautifully formulated, soft creamy shades, that help add that perfect pop of colour, or beautiful glossy sheen to any makeup look.

I found the formula of these shimmer shades to be super creamy, to the point of almost feeling like a putty. 

And when I applied them to the lid, I was even more impressed with that super high shine, borderline wet looking shimmer formula. 

I experienced no issues with fading, or application. 

However, some of the slightly more deeper shades, do have some fall out on the under eye.

Of course it's nothing too serious. But it's always important to note. As the last thing you want is to apply your base products, and have flecks of  dark brown eyeshadow flicked all over your foundation.

Other than that. I really cannot think of another reason as to why you shouldn't try this palette out. 

The colour story is simply stunning. The pigmentation is incredible, and the blendabilty is absolutely seamless.

Testing Makeup Revolutionx The Simpsons

So, for anyone who doesn't love the brand Makeup Revolution as much as I do, You would be completely unaware, of just how many amazing collections this brand has recently released.

With this review being on their newest and very exciting halloween collaboration with The Simpsons!

For this collection, there was a huge amount of products released.

From eye shadow palettes, to highlighting duos, to face trios, Lip kits, makeup bags... the whole damn lot!

Now, my makeup purchasing has been somewhat.. extreme as of late. (The proof is in in amount of reviews I've written)

So, rather than testing a huge amount of products, that I may well end up not using again, I decided to only purchase one item from the collection. 

The Simpsons Spooktacular face palette!

This face palette retails for only £10.00. Containing a powder Bronzer, a powder blush and a very nice looking highlighter. 

The palette itself, is very sleek and compact. 

Coming with all 3 products, and a decent sized mirror. 

The packaging is nice, but somewhat minamilistic compared to some of there other collaborations. 

Featuring a bold Simpson Family Logo, and using text colours in green and white shades.

The palette is also cardboard and has a magnetic closure.

Each product in the palette comes with a name. As well as an embossed, Simpson character into each powder pan.

So, I'll start by saying that this face palette, only comes in one shade.

There are no lighter or darker shades available, which I know can be somewhat problematic, depending on your skin tone. 

However, the shade selection within this face palette, worked perfectly fine for me. (I'll include more about this later.)

The first product in the palette is a powder Bronzer, called Evil Twin.

My first initial thought, was that there is no way this Bronzer shade will be light enough for my fair complexion. 

That being said, I was pleasantly surprised upon swatching, to find that this bronzing shade was not only pigmented, but a very nice shade of brown. That isn't too warm toned.

The Bronzer applied nicely to my face and blended out easily, and without much fuss. 

I didn't find the product to apply blotchy in anyway, Nor did it leave that mucky, unblended look to my skin. But simply leaving behind a very nice matt bronzed effect.

What I will say,is that most of the products in this face palette, are pressed quite hard into the pans. So, naturally you would expect to scrub the product quite hard to get payoff.

Word of advice: Do not do this with the shade Evil Twin. 

This product is, EXTREMELY pigmented. 

If anything I would probably suggest using a light hand, and building up the Bronzer lightly.

Other than that I really do love this bronzing shade, and have worn it most days, since I purchased the palette.

The second shade available is a matte blush called Brains.

This Blush is a very nice bright rosy pink shade.

Which I was expecting to be super pigmented, mostly because of its bright undertones.

However, after using this product a few times, I've found it somewhat, annoying to work with.

The blush itself isn't difficult to blend, or horrible on this skin.

I simply struggled with pigmentation, especially when I applied this shade using a brush.

I found this quite surprising as I'd actually seen alot of other people saying how pigmented this product was.

But for me, it was more effort than I want, when applying something as basic as a blush.

I actually think that it may have something to do with how hard pressed this product was, when it was placed in the pan.

I've just found it rather difficult to get a decent amount of product applied to my brush without absolutely scrubbing the top layer of the blusher.

Which is disappointing, but mostly just a faff I can't be bothered with. 

That being said, the blush does swatch decently, I just cant get the pigment to transfer, when it comes to blending on my face.

So, yeah, I don't think I would reach for this palette for it's blusher shade. 

However, I have seen other reviews where people absolutely loved this product. 

So maybe it's just a problem that I'm having.

And the third and final product in the palette is a highlighter called Cursed. 

Now, for anyone who doesn't know, I am a massive fan of highlighting products, and usually can't resist purchasing them.

So I was super excited to use this shade. 

Fortunately, I was not disappointed. 

The highlighter is an almost icey shade, with very subtle pink undertones to it. 

The highlighter has a lovely creamy smooth texture, that swatched beautifully and picked up easily on my brush, without any pan kickback. 

It applied even and smoothly to my skin. And left me with a gorgeous, glow to my face. 

I've also been enjoying how buildable this highlighter has been. As I've been able to build up the product on the skin, giving me the option of a very subtle or more blinding glow. 

The highlighter didn't leave that weird strip effect on my face, and blended in well with the rest of my makeup.

The product, really is lovely, and has that smooth, wet glow effect, as opposed to some highlighters that are just straight up glitter. 

All in all I'm super happy with this highlight. 

As for my thoughts on the entire palette. I do kind of have mixed thoughts. I absolutely loved the Bronzer, and highlight. 

But that blush shade really has irritated me when trying to use it.

For that reason, I might be slightly less tempted to recommend this product as a full face palette purchase. However, if it's something you'd feel would be a good purchase for you , then go for it, and please let me know your thoughts.

Testing Beauty Bay X Disney

For today's review we have a very special makeup collection from a brand whose products I've yet to try.

This brand is Beauty bay!

Who have very recently released a range of products in collaboration with Disney.

In this collection, there are three eyeshadow palettes, two trio packs of shadow sticks and three lip and cheek tint duos available. 

For the purpose of this review, I decided to only test a few of the eyeshadow palettes. 

The three palettes that are available in the collection are: Dumbo, The Jungle Book, and the Cheshire Cat from Alice in wonderland. (Which I'm super happy about, as the Disney Princess thing has been done ALOT by other brands and can become a bit stale after a while.)

Each palette is available for individual purchase costing only £8.00. Or,  if you'd prefer, you can buy all three of the palettes for £20.00 as a set. 

I decided to purchase The Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland palettes, as I preferred both of there colour stories. 

Each palette contains only six, all matte shadows. 

Meaning that this collection will not be ideal for everyone. (I'm looking at at shimmer and glitter lovers out there)

As for the colour choices, well for these palettes, the colour stories were totally inspired by the original Disney films.  

Beauty bay have claimed that they have gone through these classic films, pulling the colours out of different scenes, and based each individual eyeshadow shade on them. 

Which makes for a really fun and unique approach to a Disney makeup Collection. 

This also means that each shade comes with its own name, along with a code that I can only assume is the colour. Which has then been printed on the back of the packaging.

As well as this, each palette comes with its original film, or character picture, which is slightly hazy or distorted, and then used as the products packaging. 

The palettes feel super light weight and compact. Even with the small mirror being included. 

The shadow shades in each palette have been well planned out. And Represent each character from the films, extremely well. 

I also love how the shades (mainly in the jungle book palette) have this soft, muted, almost cartoon like quality. Which once again feels like great representation in regards to this collaboration. 

The formula of the palettes has been impressive. Especially for such an affordable price. 

Out of the palettes I've tested, the formulas have been super smooth and blendible. Feeling amazing to the touch, but still applying well with a brush. 

I will say though, that when using a brush, the shadows do tend to have some kick back. Nothing terrible of course, but I just thought it was worth a mention. 

I've also found the pigmentation of the shadows to be quite good. As the palettes claim to be more pressed pigments than shadows. 

I had no issues with the softer, more muted shades such as the lilacs. Which still showed up well on my lids, even without the help of a shadow primer.

And of course the brighter shades in each palette, really pack a punch. Creating some super vibrant and fun makeup looks, without requiring too much effort or building up.  

I thought the shadows lasted well on my actual lid. As often with more affordable palettes, the shadows can sometimes fade terribly. Giving that did I even put on eyeshadow today, kind of look, which nobody wants.

I experienced very little to no fall out on my under eyes, when applying these shadows. Which is particularly impressive when working with some of the more vibrant shades. 

My only complaint, or more foot note. Is that some of the shades do tend to slightly stain the lid. In particular the Brighter pink and purple tones available in the Alice in wonderland palette. (this is shown more clearly in the above picture, which were the stains left on my hand after removing some swatches.)

Which is always important to note, for my sensitive eyed individuals, as sometimes shades like this can be problematic.

However, the slight pinky stains left on my lid, weren't completely unbearable, and haven't put me of continuing to use this palette. 

All in all I have been really impressed with the palettes in the collection. Finding it to be a really unique and fun collaboration, with great affordable prices.
